Good morning OCS Families, We will be on a 2 hour delay this morning due to dense fog. School will begin at 10:15 a.m.

We have been informed that we can now come out of secure mode and normal operations have resumed.

At this time, there are no safety concerns affecting our building, and the school day will continue as usual. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we followed precautionary safety procedures.

Dear Ojibwe Charter School Families,

Our School Resource Officer has informed us of a directed threat toward Sault Area Schools and has recommended that Ojibwe Charter School proceed in secure mode at this time.

Secure mode means that no one will be permitted to enter or leave the building until further notice. If the situation changes, we will be informed immediately and will communicate any updates as soon as possible.

At this time, no threats—direct or otherwise—have been made toward Ojibwe Charter School, our students, or our staff. This precaution is being taken out of an abundance of caution to ensure the continued safety of everyone in our building.

We will be closed on Tuesday, March 17th, due to the weather.

Due to the forecasted weather, we will be closed on Monday, March 16, 2026. We have been in conversation with Chippewa County Emergency Management. They are expecting zero visibility, power outages, and a lot of snow. Please prepare now for your needs over the next few days.

Please join us for literacy night tomorrow evening from 5:00-7:00. The Scholastic Book Fair will be here as well as games, dinner, crafts, a poetry reading, as well as lantern lit snowshoe path. Everyone is welcome.

March is Reading Month! Please check out the calendar for a list of events planned this month. This week, the Scholastic Book Fair is here. We also have an "Under the Sea" themed Literacy Night planned for this Thursday, February 5th from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Good afternoon OCS Families,
Our elementary ice fishing will take place tomorrow. K-3 will go from 8:30-10:30; grades 4-6 will go from 12:00-2:00. Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately.

Good evening, OCS Families, Our ice fishing event will take place tomorrow for grades 7-12. Please ensure that all students are dressed appropriately for the weather.

We will be dismissing at 12:30 today due to the incoming winter storm. Kinross bus will leave at 12:30. We do not have a bus for the afternoon Bay Mils/Brimley run. Please call the school at 906-248-8600 if you are unable to pick your children up, and we will transport in the school van.

There will be no Bay Mills bus run tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday, February 24th). The morning bus will run as usual. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Good afternoon, OCS Families, We are back in session tomorrow. Due to the predicted forecast, the elementary Ice Fishing trip will be rescheduled to this Friday.

Good afternoon, OCS Families, We wanted to send a reminder that there is no school for students on Friday, February 20th, and Monday, February 23rd, due to a winter break and staff professional development. We will see you all on Tuesday!

We will be canceling in-person conferences today. Your child's teachers will be in touch to do phone conferences. We are having issues with our messaging system sending notices out to all families. If you all of a sudden are not receiving the messages, please let your child's teacher know or send us a message via messenger, and we will look into it. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We will be closed today, Thursday, February 19th. We will keep you posted regarding parent/teacher conferences.

Tomorrow, Thursday, February 19th is a 12:00 dismissal with Parent/Teacher conferences from 1:00-6:00 p.m.
The Varsity basketball teams will also be selling soup and baked good with proceeds going towards their basketball trip next week. 10th grade will also be taking a tour of the Sault Career Center.
